Are your strings crusty and dull? Volume knob sounding scratchy? Strings buzzing, or sounding out of tune? You may need a simple set up! See below for service descriptions and pricing.

Old strings become rusty, out of tune, and uncomfortable to play. Every guitar and player has their own string change schedule, ranging from weeks to months, depending on their playing style and frequency.

Our choice of electric guitar stock strings: Ernie Ball is one of the longest standing guitar string companies that specifically designed their strings for electric guitar. We keep Slinky 9s and 10s in stock, so if you want a specific gauge, brand, or specialty string, please bring your own.
Our choice of acoustic guitar stock strings: Ernie Ball Earthwood 11s (light strings) are an industry standard that balances quality and longevity with affordability.

Setting up a guitar addresses playability, intonation, tuning stability, tone, and general functionality of the guitar.
Cost: $65 (includes string change)

Our luthier Dawson has been maintaining Alpine’s studio instruments for the last 2 years, and are happy to extended his expertise to our students and community.
The customer will be contacted when new repairs are found with the instrument that will require more work, and will affect the original quote presented to the customer.
The customer will be referred to another luthier when the repairs needed are outside of our scope of expertise for our services.
